Katina Stefanova is CIO and CEO of Marto Capital, a systematic multi strategy asset manager. Ms. Stefanova has extensive global investment and management experience in the asset management industry. She is an investor, strategic advisor, and founder of a number of financial services companies including AcordIQ. Ms. Stefanova is a contributor to Forbes and The Hedge Fund Journal and a frequent speaker at industry events.
From 2005 to 2014, she served as a Senior Executive and Management Committee Advisor at Bridgewater Associates during the company’s rapid expansion into the largest and one of the top performing money managers in the financial industry. To date, Bridgewater has added more value in absolute terms to its investors than any other investment firm. Katina held both investment and senior management roles reporting directly to the CEO.
Prior to Bridgewater Associates, Katina was a Director at IBM’s EMEA Business Consulting Services where she led large post merger integration initiatives for financial services clients in Europe and Asia. In 2000, she headed one of IBM’s largest financial services PBO deals totaling $3 billion in review over five years.
As an early employee at AdRelevance, a Seattle-based Internet advertising measurement dot.com, Ms. Stefanova led the company’s expansion into the European market by establishing strategic partnerships with British Telecom and Vodafone. AdRelvance sold to MediaMetrix. 1997 to 1998,
Ms. Stefanova started her career at Arthur Anderson and specialized in merger and acquisition advisory services including valuation, post-merger integration in the technology sector.
Katina Stefanova graduated summa cum laude with a BA in International Relations from Brigham Young University, 1998, and received an MBA from Harvard Business School, 2005.
